Anyway to shrink iChat's width?

I've been using Adium for years now, but since my parents both now have webcams built in to their laptops, we've been chatting more often online now.

Problem is, Adium doesn't have any audio/video support.

So i've gone back to using iChat for the time being, installed Chax to give myself more options, but i'm still annoyed at how wide the buddy list is and it doesn't seem I can make it any smaller horizontally.

Anyone know if it can be done?

Compared to Adium, its noticeably wider at its minimum width.
 
Probably not much you can do unless you find a program that skins iChat and allows it to shrink more. At least I don't know a way to break the minimum width.
 
Yea.. even on the smallest width, it still is about 20px wider than Adium.

On a side note, I hope that the next iteration of iChat will work in a similar fashion to Adium. I want all my contacts in one list, not multiple windows.. ugh..

If i understand you correctly, Chax fixes iChat and allows you to put them in 1 list.
