If you have an AVI file lets say, make a copy of it..

use a program like DivFix so its playable. However since BT downloads chunk by chunk, you can only watch the downloaded chunks (and BT doesn't start with piece #1, so you will have to jump aroudn the video.. but it should give u an idea what you have)

Edit: I guess this is ATOT, but I would be quite disappointed with these answers here at a tech forum...

It's a video editing tool, so it has more of a tolerance for incomplete video files.

Make a copy of the file u want, and then run DivFix on it. Should be a matter of a minute or so assuming your HD is pretty fast....

yes but only if it's a 2 file avi, that way you can set do not download on file 2 so that you only download file 1 then when you get file 1 finished you start file 2 and watch file 1. 😛

Yeah, I used to watch partially-finished avi files all the time. Sometimes a torrent file only finishes say 80% of the way and then the last seeder leaves. Well, you still have most of the data at least.

There's a program called AVI Preview that comes with KaZaa Lite that does this. You can get it here.

well a lot of programs do it. for example, in almost any p2p app, there is some preview function for video files. it doesn't really matter what type. for example, i use shareaza as my bittorrent client and it can definently preview video files.
