Anyway to *jump* a power supply?

I want to test run my watercooling system and a couple fans for a bit before I get my motherboard, is there anyway to make a PSU power up without having a motherboard to hit the power button on?

You can get it to turn on by shorting 2 pins on the connector. Don't remember which two though. 😕

Its the two power button connector jumpers. Varies depending on the mobo manufacturer where it is though.

The row of jumpers is usually on the lower right hand side of the mobo below the IDE and Serial connectors when you look at it with the CPU on top.

put a power resistor across whatever the 5V is, red and black I believe, then short from the green to black and it'll fire up. Unfortunately knowing this still won't keep you from having problems using the test fixture you designed to power 36 devices drawing 30mA each when in reality each device draws 180mA... I now realize why people always suggest a high quality power supply, the cheap-o one I had was rated to 13 amps on the 3.3 volt rail, but it's thermal protection circuit shut it down at less than 5 amps.
