Anyway to get a text message notification when I get an email?

I would like to receive a text message when i get an email for one of my accounts. I dont have it setup in outlook or any client, i just use squirrel mail.

Does your cell phone have an email address, like sprint? This guy is setting up filters to forward select emails to his cell phone's email address which would get the job done.

If an alias is set to forward to your phone mail2SMS address it should work I believe.

I tried this out. For some reason, a few of my emails came as picture messages when there are no pictures. One of them came as a text, which was a success.

How can I make them arrive as ONLY TEXT messages? I get charged for picture msgs, grr.

Could that be because of the size? Text messages are limited to a very small number of characters (some number in the 200s)
