You may be correct in this case... but not in my case.
When I was 16, my parents, who hate me because of my sexuality, took my hard drive over to Children's services. When their (apparently clueless) tech couldn't access any data off of it, they took it to the police. Who (surprise!) couldn't get anything off of it, so they sent it on to some state branch. They made an outrageously huge deal out of the fact that I looked at porn. There was a ton of warez on that drive too, but nobody bothered to even bring that up, and I sure didn't want to.
After they had several psychiatrists evaluate me (who all said that they couldn't find anything wrong), they finally found one who agreed with them (and I think that was only because of money). I was placed in a mental rehab center, for a couple of months.
To make a long story short, it was an extended vacation. The entire staff there, including the psychiatrists, thought that the reason I was there was laughable, and they really didn't care what I did, just as long as I didn't kill anyone or break any laws that would get them in trouble.
Oh, and I wasn't allowed to have a computer while I was there... the entire staff became friends of mine within days... so I did have access to a computer, some of the time.
That's why I'm always reluctant to help social workers remove computer access from kids... it happened to me, and there are a ton of psychiatrists, counselors, you name it, out there who agree that Children's Services was sticking their head where they shouldn't have been.
This case may be completely different, I have no idea.
But I've talked to many social workers about stuff like this, and I always make them give me the details before I help them. I know that won't be necessary in this case, but thus far, they've complied.
