Weve gotten about 6 in the past hour and all the person does is hangup... Either is a REALLY stupid telemarketer, or a idiot prankster...

Qwest will block them, we have it but I forget what it's called...I think Privacy Plus or something.

SWb does, its called privacy manager. All it really does is route the call first to a automated message that reings thru as "Privacy Manager" and gives you the option of answering or routing to VM.. Basically it only works for voice calls. Automated calls never get through.

You can buy a telezapper. It plays a beep that mimics the 'This line has been disconnected' one. The telemarketer computers mark disconnected numbers off their list. When ppl call they will hear a quick beep but it is well worth it.

Many people do not accept blocked calls (calls that don't carry caller ID info).

Talk to your phone provider, they should be able to set it up.

You can sign up for a service from the phone company that will block all unkown, out of area, or blocked name & number phone calls. Or you can get a new answering machine like I did. It's an AT&T something or other and you can set it to basically block unknown callers. I think it just spits out a message that your residence doesn't answer blocked calls or something to that effect. I haven't turned it on myself because alot of the companies that I apply at have blocked numbers so they would never be able to contact me. It's not a good thing to be job hunting and make it impossible for a potential employer to reach you.

Viper is right, my friend has that, and it makes you dial *70( i think) before you call to display your number. Other than that it will tell you that they don't accept blocked numbers and call back using that *70 thing
