Isn't that how it works?

Mechanics give people mechanical advice.

Data recovery people give data storage advice.

Healthcare workers give healthcare advice.

Am I missing something here?

Yes. Nowhere did I say my specific role is one where I qualified to give medical advice.

I needed a 60GB SATAIII SSD last year. It was a Patriot Blaze. It has a controller called "Phison" or something. If it were SandForce, I would've kept looking to something different.

What are your opinions of Seagate SSHD's? $79.99 for 1TB. They claim it boots Win 8 in less than 10 seconds.

Things I look for:

No sandforce.
No OCZ.
Does it have downloadable cloning software? (Typically a semi-custom acronis)

Phison controllers are almost the same speed as sandforce and they both compress data, but text files gets loaded at 500MB speeds.. Real world video files and such get 150MB.. Although I think Phison compression can be turned off in the firmware so their default speeds are much faster.. but no where close to the over 400MB you get from other controllers.

Data recovery is a pretty specific job that is applicable to discussing data recovery rates. If he had said "[Take his advice], I believe he works in a computer field," then maybe your point would have merit.

How do you know (s)he doesn't work in marketing? Maybe (s)he is a tech, maybe an engineer. Maybe a software dev.

You really can't say based upon ones field of employment where their qualifications lay.

So what? I work in healthcare, does that mean I should be giving people medical advice?

People who work in call centers for computer related products could be in "Tech Support". SO they'd be "qualified" to give technical advice? I guess call dell customer service and see what SSD you should upgrade to. They'll be qualified to help.

As would almost any SSD.

Hybrid drives are an interesting thing. You can manually choose what to put into the NAND, or with modern hybrids, you can let its adaptive memory feature choose for you. It will automatically put the most frequently accessed memory into the SSD portion of the drive.

Now, this typically would be the Windows OS, but if you never reboot your computer, I think it's possible that something else you launch and run frequently for long periods of time could eventually work its way into the NAND memory, and push the OS stuff out. If you reboot daily, you're likely to see the OS boot quickly. But if you reboot less frequently, it's possible the OS would never fully supplant into the NAND and wouldn't boot anymore quickly than a typical HDD.

Seagate also says it's important you never defrag these drives because they could spoil the adaptive memory process.

Seagate's reputation as of late isn't so good around here and the same can be said of that sshd at newegg. Take a look at the threads where moisture is present in new drives along with corrosion.

Looks like I called this one right...

We are a data recovery company and that's who we send SSDs out to since we don't do them here in house.

So he works at a HDD data recovery place, and if a customer brings in an SSD, they send the drive to 3rd party because they don't do flash recovery there. The 3rd party then comes back with the data they retrieved (or didn't retrieve), and they have to call the customer and tell them, sorry we weren't able to get any data from your SSD because it's sandforce.

He then comes here with his contribution to the thread by saying that he has told 1000's of people who have Sandforce drives that they're data wasn't unrecoverable.

That's a reliable source, imo.

By the way I reported you guys.

Nasheman, that's very interesting, but a little above me. So are you saying it would be a good buy and load my games faster or would the ssd be MUCH faster?

Reported for what? Data-Medics have had threads removed for spamming. You don't want to know that when they are giving you advice?

Do you think the second floor of that building somehow has an ISO certified clean room in it?

Edit:
Data-Medics has been banned.

I don't know, I can't see through the walls. And I'm obviously not going to assume..

Data-Medics has been banned.
I actually think this is wrong. I haven't read the T&C's regarding company posters but he was clearly identified as a Data-Medics employee and he actually contributed to threads in general and not just to advertise his company.

So has anyone here got experience with Silicon Power SSDs? That brand seems to be turning up a lot lately, both in storage and memory products.
