Hm. I know you said no phones, but an AT&T iPhone lets you talk to the customer while making your appt update. I do this all day. "Hey one sec ok", (press home button, open calendar, customer is now on speaker) "Hey is thursday the 17th OK? 5pm?, Alright". Tap to return to call and put it back on your ear.

Otherwise the handheld organizer/PIM/palm/etc market has fallen by the wayside and last really useful one - dell axim line - was last made around 2006. Could probably find a cheap used one easily. They've all been integrated into phones now.

I haven't found a pair that doesn't fall out and the feeling of something in my ear without music playing is weird to me. I feel disconnected from my environment too, and think I'm going to get run over by a cab or something! It's stupid, I know, and I'm weird.

Honestly, you have not looked hard enough.

Also, I NEVER have my BT headset in my ear unless I am talking on it, so it is just like talking on the phone (except, with the headset, your "phone" hand is free, your phone is free to look at and your peripheral vision is not blocked).

Find a used rooted Droid (original) on eBay. When asked to activate, use the "four corners trick" or install CyanogenMod 7.1. to use it without activation. Not 100% sure, but I believe CyanogenMod might allow you to tether via Bluetooth to your BlackBerry and use it's connection to sync (in addition to wifi).

I agree with the above. A used Android phone will clearly be the most bang for the buck...

Get something with a qwerty keyboard, and just put it on your wifi for real-time email, contacts and calendar. Fits in your pocket, take it with you and have all your info at your fingertips, and it all syncs up wirelessly when you get back to your home/office.

You don't need to pay any monthly fees, or sign any service contracts, and you certainly don't need a $500 tablet just for email, contacts, and calendar.
