I work for a retailer along these lines...quite simply, no one is going to pricematch a pricematch. The pricematching policy for most B&M stores typically state that they won't pricematch membership clubs (i.e.Sam's), stores that aren't consider competitors (major retailer within 50 mile radius or so), and that any special discounts or promotional deals (clearance items, internet sign ups, store based rebates, etc..) will not be honored. If you get static with a salesperson or think you should be entitled, ALWAYS ask for a manager and be civil and nice until the situation demands otherwise. Staples is the only B&M store i know of that honors web site prices, so any other store will usually require an advertisement, price quote from a store, or calling up a rep from the store itself.
Office Max does have a 155% pricematching policy (55% of the difference like stated above), Best Buy has 110% (10% difference), Circuit City 110%(10% difference),and the rest are typically 100%. And 10% of the difference may not seem like a lot, but ask for it. Most employees don't even know the 10% is supposed to be there, let alone it's supposed to be off of the difference. SO play dumb and see where your luck takes you
This site is a little dated, but it explains pricematching fairly well, and provides some generally good info on it. Not that we need it with all the better deals online!!!! hehe
