Um... no?

They have genders?

Avatars are used by posters and posters have genders... sooo... yeah I still don't see any weirdness.

I consider it odd how they all identify themselves by some minor and yet non-unique element like race, gender, or job. Rather uncreative. But who am I to criticize an uncreative tag 🙂

hmm, perhaps something like
urbanguy -> urbancrimefigher
asianman -> compulsivegambler
brunette-1 -> sallynotwithoutmydaughterfields

The odd thing about that list is how you didn't make the list very well at all.

Asian icons on Anandtech:
*asian-w-1
*asian-w-2
*asiangirl
*asianman
*default
*officeguy5
*officelady2

(Possibly) African (possibly) American icons on Anandtech:
*africanamerican
*anotherlady
*bwoman-1
*dreadlocks
*execguy
*graduate_male
*male_prof
*matron
*officelady1
*police_man
*police_man_glasses

Too many white icons on Anandtech to list.

So the conclusion is 5 or 6 of the 18 non-white racial icons mention race. That is 1/3rd. Note: if you include the other races (such as the yellow people like me, the number falls much further).
