Anything New Like the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1s?

You can still buy them new on Amazon. They still fail just like the originals though.

I use a 50 watt Rotel power amp, bookshelves, and a sub. Only have to fix/replace one item, not the whole system. I already had the amp just sitting around.

It was kind of expensive but I upgraded from "PC Speakers" to something more substantial in a Vanatoo Transparent Zero set plus a subwoofer. There are lots of powered stereo speaker setups to choose from these days, pick one that suits your preferences and budget, and attach any subwoofer you want.

It will be much better performing and long-lasting than a Promedia 2.1 set, although nowhere near the value.

Proper speakers >>>>>> computer speakers.
This topic comes up every now and then. And you give the same advice. Good boy.

I had a pair of those Klipsch ProMedia 2.1. I liked the bright. I hated the craptastic sub that they used try to give a muddy low end to the satellites. And then the amp in the sub went out. Got another set. Rinse. Repeat.

Then, I got me some really good powered desktop speakers. The accuracy and imaging were amazing. It helps to have proper drivers.

I grew up in a mid tier electronics distributor/ retailer. I have helped put together speakers. Been to various factories as well.
