virginia beach is not very nice anyways. kings dominion is also fun if you like amusement parks. nova has a lot of good food and nightlife.

Depends on what part of the state you're in.

Williamsburg has Busch Gardens (by far the cleanest full-szied Amusement Park I've ever been too) as well as mucho historical sites. There's also Luray Caverns, Mt. Vernon, King's Dominion, lot of Civil War history sites scattered throughout the state. Old Rag out in the Shenandoah is a nice day-hike.

Quantico has the Marine Corps Museum, and if you're in Fairfax county there's the Air and Space Museum Annex (which is very much a whole museum unto itself).

Second what Scott said. Where are you going to be will help us give you advice on what there is to do. Western part of the state has some amazing hikes and caverns, middle part has it's fair share of Civil War battlegrounds, eastern part has the beach and amusement parks. If you're in Northern Virginia you have all of the museums in DC to visit. If you're looking for something different, Skydive Orange (Orange, VA) or Virginia Skydiving Center (South of Richmond).

Depends on what part of VA you are going to, but there is really quite a lot of places to go.

Nova: food and shopping, close to DC for museums, bike trails
West: luvern caverns
South: historic
