Anything for Xbox thats came out in the past 6-8 months or longer worth playing? Just got another and haven't really touched any games in a while for one. I bought it mainly for a media player but figured I'd see if any games catch my eyes.

Nothing has really come out for that system in the last year. Maybe Black or Half Life 2 if you like FPS games. Everything has been moving over to the 360.

Yeah that thing got abandoned badly after the 360 release. Stupid cause it has a decent amount of potential left. Most games released for it lately have been PS2 ports. As said, for FPS I think HL2 and Black are pretty damn good.

And you wont find a reply in an Xbox thread without me mentioning this... so Ninja Gaiden Black is the best game evar. But you're probably already aware of that game.

Just going to mention that. I borrowed an xbox and NGB from a friend. Unfortunately, i thought NGB was the sequel to NG, so I never played it... I'm an idiot. After my friend got back and I went over to his house to play NG, I was dazzled and stupefied.

As a recent Xbox convert who is used to playing with a mouse and keyboard, NG/NGB kicks my a** hardcore. It took me forever to beat the first boss, only to get stuck again on the 2nd stage. :)

It's an old game, but Mercenaries was one of the few non-sport Xbox games that kept my attention longer than an hour.

I loved Mercenaries. Played that thing through to the end and enjoyed every minute. It's like GTA in a military setting and with far better vehicles. I read recently that they are working on Mercenaries 2, but the preview I read had it only listed for the PS3 :( I'll likely end up with a PS3 at some point anyway, but not likely for a year or more after release.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention Mercenaries. I really like that one too. They improved enough on the combat from GTA and whatnot to where its not a boring GTA clone. Its fun calling in airstrikes on random buildings and setting charges or whatever just to bring stuff down. :)

NG:Black is Ninja Gaiden with a few improvements. Mostly its just the XBox live downloadable Hurrican Packs packaged with NG and released as a new game (but hey for $30 its a long game with tons of very fun play). I dont know specifics but I believe the game speed was increased, the right analog stick is no a free moving camera instead of the 1st person thing. There is a new weapon: a staff and maybe a few more. The biggest addition is a bunch of arenas (maybe 20+?). They just throw a lot of enemies at you and you complete it for time/score. They are very hard (at minimum you'll need to beat NG on normal and be able to hold your own in hard) but they are good for when you complete the game. So really there is almost no reason to get NG for $20 when you can get NGB for $30.

I think it's basically the same thing, just with a Mission Mode and some improvements. Not very sure, that's only what my friend told me.

EDIT: Gee, duragezic said a helluva lot more than I did. Props! That right analog stick thing was a PITA in the original.

Well I beat NG on normal. Most of the bosses it took me a couple trys to beat excepts for that one boss(angel like boss) been to long ago. She was hardcore. It took me several tries to beat her. I might give NGB a try since I only remember bits and pieces of the game. I beat it when it first came out.
