Hey guys,

Is there anything bad about the Thermaltake Xaser III Skull Mid-Tower or the TT Xaser III Lanfire cases? I am looking at both them because they look pretty cool are the size I want and the price isn't too bad.
They are really about the only two cases I like really.

In addition, does anyone know if the OCZ power supplies will fit in there? I have learned not to skimp on a powersupply and OCZ looks pretty good. I need at least 480w or 500w to be safe I think. What brand would be best in this? (FX-55, 6800ultra or x800)

thanks,
Seth

Aside from them being over priced flash I think they are some of the ugliest cases in existence but that?s personal opinion.

Also OCZ make great PSU's and they'll fit but I highly doubt you need 480 watts.

What case would you recommend then? I really don't want something clear or something with a ton of blue lights coming out the side or anything. I'll take a look at what you think is cool.

What wattage do I need for this then?

FX-55
NV 6800 Ultra
2 CD drives
1 300 gig HD

might add a sound card if the onboard sound isn't that great

OCZ makes a 420W, 470W and 520W PSU. I honestly think I 450w to play it safe. Better safe than sorry.

please help

Will the OCZ 420w be a great one then?

If that setup runs on a 250w supply then why are companies even making "450w" and "500w" PSU's?

if you have too much cash the v1100 if you dont have that much cash the pc60 is still nice even tho its old. i kinda like the antec sonata for the piano black finish but not as much as the lian lis.

and yea the 420 ocz will definitely supply enough power and its not a bad psu.

thing with overclocking is that you up the voltage a lil that causes more amperes to flow and W=VA so oc adds more watts than one would might think at first. i dont really like ocing cuz i just rather buy new stuff if i feel the need as ordering new stuff makes me happy and gets me excited kinda like a teenager staring at his new gfs boobies for the first time. i know i need therapy so no need to comment on this.

How about this ----> CoolerMaster Wave Master?

That really is a good looking case. How well does it keep cool without a fan on the side of it though?

Well I'm not Italian, nor is Operandi my name; it?s Latin for "operation". Ironically I've been told I look Italian though so if you wish to refer to me as Italian I will permit it.

Yes it is. Don't worry about fans on the side, they?re useless. The exhaust fan/s is what really determines case temp. Intake fans in the front are good for cooling of HD?s and maintaining positive or neutral air pressure in the case.

Wouldn't a fan on the side blowing out create more "vacuum" inside the case helping the fan in the front by pulling out hot air?

Fans in the side panel are used as intakes, along with the front fans, the only use they really have is to aid in video card cooling but its completely unnecessary. Cool air should come in from the front of the case via the bottom intake fans, the air should then move throughout the case to rear exhaust fans where it is removed from the case. Typically you want to aim for neutral air pressure, same amount of air being moved in and out.

What? Who said the Wave Master is girly?

Are you trying to not make sense on purpose?
