Now, if they say this is based on Linux, that's going to be the final nail in iPhone's coffin.

I wish they'd come out with nice phones sans digital cameras built in :(. I can never find a phone I like without a camera built in and work frowns upon such photographic devices.

Yes, I have almost zero use for the camera and imagine it adds some price and thickness :(

as sweet as that phone is, I think it looks the same as the htc/orange phones. The only thing better is the camera. I think I read that it will run the new windows mobile 6.

btw, that 3G won't work in the US since it's 2100mhz.

Nah, it's running an unknown OS with an Adobe UI over it. If it ran WM6, I'd be more excited about it. Of course people will complain that it doesn't have the builtin storage of the iPhone nor the higher res screen.

It's a great looking design, though.

I think it would. The iPhone doesn't allow any third party apps at all. If it was Linux, there'll be all sorts apps, such as ebook readers, audio players, video players, codecs, games, etc.

More complicated than the average iAnything consumer cares about. And would you want to be the Samsung (or Cingular/Verizon/T-Mobile) CSR who has to deal with Sally May from Mobile, AL whose phone can't do anything because she screwed up the install of a 3rd party program?

Uh... that is a pure hype article. I'm mostly interested in the UI. Doesn't look like they will have multi-touch, for example. Just "drag and drop" whatever that means. I don't see anything that would make me toss my current pda phone (which is a samsung with a touchscreen and querty keyboard) on that samsung . Probably not on the iphone either, but it would be cool to play with the multitouch interface.

No more so than other smart phones that allow 3rd party apps.

If apple had put their GUI and everything in that physical shell (with a better screen) it would be perfect.
