Well my feul pump relay is going bad and its causing my car to have trouble starting. I was wondering how much one of these would cost at the shop to get replaced.

Thanks,
Rob

the relay often plugs in under the hood, and can even be changed by a "moron" 😉

My chevy van its under the hood, and took me like 4 mins to change.

What car/what engine,what country/state.

Its probably easy in firebird. The relay in my Accord was about $75 and I had to dig around under the dash a bit.

there relay will be one of the square blocks located on the driver side of the firewall. Should cost no more then $5 and take no longer then 5 seconds to replace. Im just going to ask tho, how did you come to the conclusion that the relay is at fault?

Here's a thread from thirdgen.org that should help. The relay should be easy to replace.

Edit: According to the link above: There should be 3 relays on the firewall near the driver's side fender. The front most is the FP relay (looking from the front of the car to the back)

I was told it was at fault the symptoms of my car being it has a really hard time starting but will run just fine once it is started.

relays are VERY easy to replace.. they simply plug into a fuse board - if you can unplug you PC and then plug it back into the wall, you can replace it.

All you need to do is find out exactly where it's located. The parts shop should be able to tell you where... also, look for Firebird forums on the net - they can give you tons of advice

good luck.
