Anyone work with Kronos clocks?

I have about 60 or so clocks I need to change the IP address on, problem is they are all over the country. Kronos tells me there is no way to do this remotely and someone has to physically be at the clock. There has to be a hack or work around somewhere. If find it hard to believe I can do other types of configuration remotely but not network changes.
I mean this is a pretty standard function to manage network configrations remotely.

I can change the IP address on my $200 printer via a web interface. It's crazy that a $2500 clock would not have this ability. 😕

From what I remember, those options could only be changed after swiping the master card... Been a long time since I have messed with Kronos though. Good system, but configuration and setup was a pain. Expensive too!

If you swipe the M card you can change the configuration. The probem is these clocks are a few hunderd to a few thousand miles from me.

As far as being a good system. Bah, their terminolgy is all backwards(If I'm on the server sending data to a clock, that is an upload, not a download) and there isn't a hierarchy structure for clock groups, can only assign an employee to 1 clock group(Not a problem if there were some type of hierarchy)

Now I'm going to have to call a bunch of end users(Who don't know how to use the clock to begin with) and walk them thru updating the clocks comm settings. AHHHH. Yes you would be surprised at how many people don't understand these clocks.

KRONOS is a pos. They were a secure solution for a situation that never existed. Coupled with lock step programming and as you say backwards terminology makes this a pain in ass. I dealt with the system while working at Convergys. I recommend you send a detailed step by step instruction sheet to each location before calling and walking them through it. I feel your pain. Good luck!
