I purchased a new phone. It's T-mobile Branded. (UK)
I am a T-mobile Subscriber (USA)

I figured that since it's T-mobile, the headset would work. (Wrong)
Is there anyway I can get this phone I purchased unlocked by T-mobile ?
Would T-moble USA have the IMEI unlock code ?

The phone in question is a Sharp TM100

Doesn't the phone accept universal headsets?? I just went to Office Depot and bought a universal headset for my Motorola.

He means headset as in the phone itself. :)

Anyways isekii, after doing a quick search on google on unlocking a sharp tm-100, you will need something called a griffin box and some money to access a remote server that can unlock your phone for you. Hope this helps!

Yes, that's one way but I really don't need a griffin box for 150 pounds.
From what I remember, T-mobile has unlock codes for each individual phones.

Ah, the alternating use of "phone" and "headset" lead me to believe that he was talking about two different things. Sorry.

Why not just call T-Mo and ask them?

I heard someone say he told T-Mobile he was going overseas and wanted his phone unlocked so that he can use it there. T-Mobile gave him instructions and a code to unlock his phone.

Just tell T Mobile that you are going out of the country and want to use your phone there. They will unlock it for you as long as you've been a subscriber for more than 3 months.

I've contacted T-Mobile USA to see what they can do for me.
This phone isn't released in the US. It's only UK for now. It however does work since it's a triband phone.

I've received an email response from T-mobile UK, and it looks like they'll charge 15pounds for the unlock code :( and I'll need a existing number from T-mobile or something.
If T-mobile USA can't help me, i'll have to try and find someone in the UK that can help me get the code :(

Nokia's phone styling doesn't do it for me :(

Yeah but they are pretty good phones, I love the reception on them. I have a Samsung E715 right now and it blows, my old Nokia gets better reception in my house. I opted for the E715 over the T610 and I tested it out the other day and the Sony Ericsson performs better.

I have a T-Mobile's Samsung S105 and T-Mobile service (US). I sent them an email requesting an unlock code so I could use it overseas. They asked me the relevant questions, I answered, they sent me instructions on how to unlock the phone. The entire emailing process took about 36 hours, and it was free.

I got the email address from HowardForums.

Have you tried taking the phone into a T-Mobile store and asking them? I thought that that is the procedure for when you buy a phone from ebay or whatever.

This phone isn't a us released phone. So Tmobile USA shouldn't have the unlock code.
I emailed them anyways to see if they can contact T-mobile UK to get the unlock code.
Currently waiting back on a reply.
