Anyone work for RaceTrac?

Turkish

Lifer
I know there are quite a few of you from Atlanta so figured I may ask... I'm applying for the Special Projects Manager position and have a few questions, let me know if you can help! 🙂 Thank you!

RaceTrac usually works for me when I'm looking for a place to shoplift. The sales clerks usually don't care as long as I don't pull a gun on them.

I hate that place (for personal reasons).

When I was 16 my car broke down. I pushed into the parking lot of the local RaceTrac way out of the way of anything. Spoke to the manager and told him I would have it removed first thing the next morning. He said OK. Then the asshole had it towed. Cost me 150 bucks to get it back. I have held that grudge for 15 years and will never go there again.

They have them around here, and most are pretty disgusting. I even went so far as emailing them about it.

Warm beer, good gas/beer/cig prices, but overall nasty.

They are cheap, and I buy cheap gas, so I use them about half the time.

Dumbest thing ever...worst job...at racetrac one time a woman on the loudspeaker was saying hi to each car as it drove in "To the fellow owning the black truck, welcome to racetrac...woman in the yellow hatchback, welcome to racetrac"

I thought you were from Canada? 😕

Anyways, this is a corporate job so let me know if you know anyone that works for Racetrac Corporate Headquarters.

Driving through Georgia a couple weeks ago we stopped at one to get gas and use the bathroom... the bathrooms were so unclean I didn't want to walk in even with my shoes on so we decided to spend 0.02 cents per gallon more and drive down to the BP station which had bathrooms I would have been comfortable pooping in if I felt the need...

Cool, thanks for sharing your experience. I am going to be interviewing with the Director of Special Projects so I am thinking of sharing this stuff with him. I'll basically tell him that I have been doing some research on RaceTrac, and share customer experiences with him. Is this is a bad idea though? To tell him something bad about RaceTrac? I want to tell him that I can try to solve this issue if given the opportunity.

I have no idea... but it WOULD be nice if big corporations like that kept tabs on all the little stores to make sure they were doing things right... and not allowing puddles of urine to collect on the floor... or allow parts of the toilet to be stolen... keep soap and paper towels in there to wash and dry your hands with... things like that. No lid on the tank, no handle... to flush it you would have to reach into the tank and move the lever.

Thanks, that's definetly good to know as I have never been to a RaceTrac gas station before (we don't have them around here). I'd love to live in Atlanta, Ga so I hope this interview goes well tomorrow at 4PM. Wish me luck! 🙂

My cousin used to work for them as the Director of Special Projects but he left for another company in 2001. The current director is the guy that my cousin promoted to a special projects manager (from field analyst) before he left. He put me in touch with him so I hope this goes good. Got a casual phone interview at 4:00 PM. Wish me luck 🙂
