Meh, there is a girl I talk to on the phone for about 4 hours once a week. I don't see any issues with it as long as this isn't some everyday occurrence.

your mom doesn't count

My mom never calls me :(

Use something like Skype instead. Should be a hell of a lot more comfortable and cooler than holding a cell phone to your head for 4 hours.

And honestly, do you need to speak with someone for 4 hours at a time? I can tell you my entire life story in probably 20 minutes. Throw in some political and religious discussion, plans for the next day, social commentary, etc. and you have maybe an hour max.

its to prevent an 10000000000hr call that occurs by accident (phone buttons get pressed in purse/pocket etc.)

Also, most phone batteries die after 4hrs of talk time...

Even when my Mom and/or Dad it's like 8 mins max.... what the frickin' hell could you possibly have to talk about to ANYONE for 4 hours? that's one sixth of your day! if you sleep for 8 hours it's 1/3 of your day.... so... in essence you are spending 1/3 of your LIFE on the phone talking about the other 2/3 waking hours of your day....

sigh

I use a headset. It's charging while I use it (I don't have a home phone).
It's not everyday that I talk to her for 4 hours straight, usually just weekends. The other days are like 1-3 hours.
