I'd be curious to know what position you hold and what your salary is...

I'd also be curious to know how much you're paying for housing if you're living in Toronto.

I used to work for bell canada (in the west).

I worked in the QA area.

Compensation depended on what you did. What are you looking at?

Product Development

As in Development (IT)?

Or Marketing and Sales?

If IT, yhat area can either go really well or REALLY ****** depending on the team you end up with.

In marketing/sales, be prepared to deal with the bureaucracy big time.

I can't answer the first part, but I do work on Bay St. in downtown Toronto and live 15 minutes away by subway.

In the Bloor/Sherbourne area (one of the worst areas of Toronto to be honest, but quite livable really), rent for a rather tiny (~500 sqft) one bedroomapartment is $800ish a month. 650 sqft will run you about $950. It only gets more ridiculous from there.

I work for Rogers Communications if that helps, I'm staying with a friends grandparents place and I pay $220 for a room downtown (Spadina/Queen), utils included.

If you are looking for a room, expect to pay $500/mth, if you're looking for a full plcae, I would say 800-1200/mth.
