Anyone with NEC DVD/RW drives

Question just like topic, my 5 month old NEC 3540 drive decided to die a horrible death today...it just sits there and clicks over and over and over like the reader is jammed. Tried it in different computers same deal. Gonna call NEC for an RMA and thats my other question are they good with RMAs? I bought it from Newegg...anyways ordered a BenQ drive just in case they wont RMA it...so yea anyone else have this problem?

Have had my NEC ND-3500A for over a year now. No problems at all.

Yea digusting part is that I burned THREE DVD's in 5 months and just installed windows my games and listened to music.....never did anything to screw it up....argh....*shakes fist at NEC*

Maybe it was just bad luck and your turn to "lean in and take on for the team," by picking up a dud. I've only used 3-4 NEC's in the past year starting with the 3520 and they have all been great. I used to buy LiteOn but switched to NEC's and so far they have done well. Time will tell, but the 3520's and the newest 3550 that I bought a few months ago have been perfect from day one. Sorry about the back luck.
