Do you always have to do this or is it just my mobo?

Whenever I turn on or restart my computer I come to a screen where it should the American Megatrends logo and then I get an option to either press F1 to enter the bios (setup) or press F2 to run with defaults? Is there a way that I can save it so that I don't have to press anything?

When I go to bios I change the boot order to 1) harddrive 2) cd-rom 3) Floppy and then I hit save and exit and this screen still appears!

Any remedy for my problem

Bad BIOS battery? CMOS jumper set to clear?

Did this just start, or has the computer worked before?

Is there any error message on the screen?

Whenever I boot up the computer it will most likely say a new CPU has been installed in your system! Other times I have gotten a CMOS checksum error. People have told me to replace the battery, I did and nothing changed. As far as I know the jumper is set to normal

I'd get the newest bios, and make sure you have your cpu set correctly, and remember to save your changes.

Most motherboards will show the same behavior after clearing the cmos, or possibly having the wrong cpu multiplier picked.

I have the newest bios and as far as I know the CPU is connected right. I can use the computer just perfectly, I play Counter-strike source all the time.

I have cleared the CMOS once but the problem was there before that
