When you pick up your mouse, does the optical light stay off, stay on, or flash intermittenly? I bought a second hand one off egay and it seems to be jumpy

It blinks. I feel that the wireless one is far less accurate than my wired one, but it's not bad enough for me to not want to use it, but it does annoy me sometimes when I'm trying to click on something small.
 
ok whew, thought it was glitchy. Tried playing CS with it and it has this weird lag. BTW, Is the little red part underneath the microsoft logo supposed to light up?

I think the receiver stops "listening" after a short pause in motion. If I'm playing DC through my ATI and all of a sudden the screen saver pops up, just tapping the mouse doesn't work...I have to really wave it around for a second.
I wish I knew a fix.

I don't think the "tail light" is supposed to light up as it does on the wired explorer.
