Anyone with a Pentium III Tualatin?

Is anyone running SETI@home on a Pentium III Tualatin (the most recent P3 with 512 kB on-chip L2 cache)? If so, would you mind posting some SETI@home processing times for a 0.417 angle range (AR) work unit? Also, tell me the CPU speed and multiplier (or RAM speed). I need this information to improve the efficiency table and graph on the SETI Spy web site.

i think someone around here has a laptop with one... lemme do a search

EDIT: i really need to subscribe to get the better search funktion...

I had a tualitin core PIII800 laptop that was doing SETI and averaging 5hr18 minute WUs, but I couldn't tell you what a .417 WU was doing. I'll check the history when I get to work tomorrow.

[edit] it was a PIII800-M, tualitin core.[edit]

Hi roelof,

I have a SetiSpy related question: For Palomino Athlons, is its efficiency and calibration data same as the Thunderbird core? If not, I am willing to do the calibration and submit the data for you, thanks.

I've got a P3-M 866mhz notebook. To answer your question, I don't remember the exact times, but it could finish any WU in 5:30 to 6:30. Very nice CPU. It even had a 4:02 WU once 🙂

serialb, I expect it to be somewhat different. It would be great if you can do the calibration and submit it!

I am working on it. Once I have completed one each for low, mid and hi AR WU, I'll post it back here.

you know what I just noticed....

the Itanium is less effecient than a 486DX in x86 mode:Q

I can't wait to see a clawhammer come around with 1MB cache😀
