Anyone with a P4B266-C noticing higher voltage reading than what you set in BIOS?

When I set my BIOS core voltage to 1.60v, I am actually getting reading of 1.70v in my MBM5 as well as my Hardware Monitor in BIOS.

When I set to 1.70v (max core without wire trick) I get a reading of 1.77v to 1.79v.

I have a new Enermax 350 Dual Fan Power Supply.

Is anyone else getting this on their P4B266-C?

It's a quite normal situation. Asus always sets the Vcore and VIO quite higher than the value set in the bios. For example, I have my 1.75 default Vcore reading 1.82V.

Freshbrain has it right. ASUS boards usually send all voltages just a little higher than normal.

I've got a P4B266 and have the opposite situation. Whatever I set my voltage at in the BIOS, it reads a little LESS with MBM. 1.5 in the BIOS shows as 1.47/1.48 in MBM. 1.575 in BIOS shows as 1.54/1.55 in MBM, etc.

Is it true that much like the CUSL2, that the P4B266-C boots up with default core voltage on COLD BOOTS until it gets midway through the post and then adjusts the core to the higher setting?

I am assuming this as I have reached 145fsb with core voltage maxxed out at 1.70v (no wire trick yet) when doing RESTARTS. However, when I SHUTDOWN, I cannot even get the processor to boot up and I am not getting any video at all!

Can anyone confirm this? Will the WIRE TRICK set my default COLD BOOT CORE VOLTAGE to 1.62v?

My P4B266-C is set at 1.5V (2.2Ghz)

Is this my powersupply? I am using the OC feature on the mobo and am getting slightly less than the rated voltage that I set it at and under load MBM reads the voltage to drop significantly. I have my vcore set to 1.65v. At idle it reads 1.63v and under Prime95 load it drops to 1.53-1.55v. I have been afraid to go for more voltage just in case MBM is reading the sensor wrong. I don't want to toast my chip. It is currently running at 142fsb and memory all at lowest settings (except don't know what to set that timing that says infinity too). Any help would be appreciated.

Oh and my +12 line is bottoming at 11.43v, this is also one of the reasons I think my powersupply is inadequate. This Enermax just may turn out to be my wife's powersupply (using my old board and chip.....).
