Hi
I own two computers. I purchased a Gainward Geforce 3 with TV out and my other computer I bought a Gainward Geforce 3 Ti200
Both systems are running XP and are using the drivers that came with the video card.

Each computer is in a different room and I have installed the S- Video out to a TV to the Video in RCA jack of my TV's
I then when into settings, advanced, Device Selection and chose TV and location of USA.
I then clicked on Apply and got a message that Windows will now apply your new display settings.

Here is the problem.
The monitor screen goes black, the TV flickers and then the monitor goes back to normal. The Display DOES NOT change to my TV no matter how many times I choose TV and APPLY, it just goes black and then changes back to the monitor.
As I mentioned, this happens on BOTH computers on TWO different TV's

Any ideas ?

Try setting the resolution lower(800x600--640x480). On the refresh rate set it to optimal.

Hey there. I have a gf3 from Gainward and i've jsut started meddling with this. I have the latest Det drivers and i can't seem to select a resolution smaller than 800*600. My connection to the TV is through the VCR by a single 5meter RCA cable. The DVD quality is ok, but the desktop quality is crap. My TV does not support anything other than a coax connection, and i'm not sure if the lack of screen clarity is a result of the TV or the TV out chip on the GF3. I'm aware of a program called TV tool which is supposed to help improve screen quality, but it simply won't work with my setup...when i switch to TV mode with this it simply goes blank on the TV.

I would suggest in your case to make the connection, restart the computer, then go back to the settings and *then* switch to TV. That move made it finally work for me in WinXP.

Can anyone tell me what quality to expect for TV out in normal programs such as IE or word. I have an old 20inch tv and i can't read the screen at 800*600. Any ideas? Is this normal?

Found the problem. I was using the Nvidia Refresh Fix program and had the resolution refresh rate set to 100. I then tried 85, 75 and neither worked. I then set it to default of 60hz and it worked. In fact, it worked on both computers.
This Nvidia fix program is suppose to be for games since there is a flaw in the card that sets the games to 60hz refresh no matter what the Desktop refresh rate is set to.
Only problem is that the quality of the TV is horrible. One computer is connected to a 27" Panasonic and the other is a Sony 27" WEGA, but they both look like crap.
I dont really think it is worth using the TV out, especially since I have to change the Nvidia refresh rate to 60 which means a reboot each time.
