Anyone with 2600/3770 using Olympus Viewer 2?

Most on the time I use ACR when I'm working with my OM-D files but I like the fast results I can get with the Oly software, and the filters I find them useful sometimes; but the 5 to 10 seconds it takes to refresh the image is killing me, even with my 2500k @ 4GHz.

I'm thinking on upgrading to a HT CPU since it seems that Viewer uses all the cores. Can anyone with a 2600/2700 or 3770 share what's the typical refresh delay?

Thanks

All my pictures are on HDD but is the same with the pictures in the SSD; in both cases CPU utilization goes to (almost) 100%

I really doubt hyperthreading is going to help. If your quad core CPU is already already at full usage, how would it make a difference?

I saw an article the other day warning people that upgrading their computers wouldn't necessarily speed up their workflow when using Adobe Lightroom. They had worked with Newegg to build some supercomputer and tested it before actually paying for it all, and the results were marginal at best and not worth the cost. While this is a different set of software, I think the message is still the same - you're more than likely just being limited by the software's inability to efficiently utilize all your computer has to offer.

You're talking about filters, right?

Isn't it normal for Photoshop to have large lag when applying certain filters on photos?

I'm talking about "art filters" within Olympus Viewer software. In PS applying filters takes some time, you're right, but the preview updates almost immediately; in the Oly software just to preview the filter takes a few seconds and that gets a little frustrating when you want to test several different things for a particular photo. Since the software seems to support all 4 threads of my 2500k, I was just wondering if HT will bring some benefits.
