You need to prove that you are right. How are 90% on disability? Show us.
He's just an idiot troll.
9 out of 10 people I see from day to day are, in fact, not on disability.

I would just like to ask this question.
Do the following universities have a reputation for idiots attending?
Ga Tech
Clemson(Top 25 public university)
UNC
Florida
Wake Forest
Now I can't speak for all of those schools and tell you the in-state versus out of state. But I can say that Clemson had a majority of in-state students.
Are people going to suggest that good schools such as those are only good due to out of state(northern) students?

See! It's coming...
Its like the smart part of VA is Northern and the dumb part is Southern. This idea is from a previous poster.
🙂
My whole point is this:
I talk to people from the south every single day. At least 20 a day. Out of those 20, maybe 5 speak and understand plain English. At least 10 of the people make it a point to tell me they are on disability.
I don't have this problem with any other region in the country and I talk to people from some pretty nasty places. Please explain to me why people from down there can't seem to speak or understand their own language and why they insist on telling people (people who don't ask nor care) that they are on disability?
I'll wait.

I talk to people from the south all day every day and I haven't experienced this. You've really shown your ass in this thread.
Shown my ass?
I admit that I have an unhealthy resentment against southerners. Every time I am close to getting over it, I talk to a Boomhower or Gomer who puts me right back on track.
My point still remains unanswered.

You have no point. You're wallowing around in your own hatred of people from the south, of all things. That has to be one of the stupidest personal problems I've read about on this forum. You keep making up worthless statistics and you're convinced that your own biased anecdotal "evidence", which is worthless even by anecdotal evidence standards, constitutes a valid argument.
I've never seen you post something so stupid, so I have to assume you're just stuck on this one thing for whatever reason. It's especially funny since you're attepting to prove how unintelligent a group of people are and you're using absolutely no critical thinking nor are you showing any intelligence of your own.
It's just fucking weird.

So once again....someone please prove me wrong. I would greatly appreciate it.
You are 100% right. I keep hoping/wanting/striving to find proof that the segment of the south I talk to is just a fluke. But I can't find any.
The really sad part is I hate racism with all my heart. Anyone who generalized like that is a bigot and ignorant. However this one thing I can't seem to get over.

what percentage of the population attends those schools?
You are the dipshit using a broad brush to generalize southerns.
Once again, there are MANY MANY MANY well respected universities in the south.
Many LARGE LARGE universities. And most of the students in those schools are southerns or in state kids.
So your whole argument is crap. I ask what field you work in because I assume your field is generally full of idiots and that is why you are running your mouth here.
So what you are saying is if you have lots of money and it snows yearly then it is Northern? Hmmm, Interesting.
DC and Maryland are usually considered to be part of the North. However DC is Northern to the core.
Sorry for your failure in geography, but Virginia is part of the South. No matter how hard you try to deny it. It makes no difference how rich you are or how you vote. Your opinion doesn't matter.
Spell Mason-Dixon Line for starters.
I know a lot of Virginians that would whip your ass for calling them part of the "Northern States". 🙂
My wife is from VA BTW.
Really, both states (Maryland and Virginia) have areas that could be considered northern as well as areas that could be called southern.
How about West Virgina or along the Appalachian Trail in Va they are poor and uneducated? What area do they fall under?
Your logic is off.
SourceThe Office of Management and Budget will use these standards to delineate Core Based Statistical Areas (CBSAs) beginning in 2013.
A CBSA is a geographic entity associated with at least one core of 10,000 or more population, plus adjacent territory that has a high degree of social and economic integration with the core as measured by commuting ties. The standards designate and delineate two categories of CBSAs: Metropolitan Statistical Areas and Micropolitan Statistical Areas.
That seems like a lot of Virginia locations that are defined by the OMB to be socially and economically integrated with parts of Maryland and DC, which you said is "Northern to the core."47900 Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, DC-VA-MD-WV Metropolitan Statistical Area

District of Columbia, DC; Calvert County, MD; Charles County, MD; Prince George's County, MD; Arlington County, VA; Clarke County, VA; Fairfax County, VA; Fauquier

High income could easily be attributed to high cost of living. South has pretty low cost of living, which leads to lower salary. Income is apples to oranges and doesn't really matter in your point.
How can anyone possibly prove you wrong? This is something you have concocted in your mind just to get by and feel better about yourself. Why? Perhaps it's because you realize your job is meaningless and there is nothing else you do in life that matters. You think you should be in a much better place than you are, perhaps socially or financially, and constantly deal with people you consider to be dumb but realize some of these people may have a much better quality of life than you, and that pisses you off. You want to believe there is someone in this world that is inferior to you and, since you can't actually find that person through the course of your normal daily life, you have created this idea of 'dumb southerner' in your mind so that you now have something to make you feel better about your life.
It's really pretty sad and I hope you grow out of it one day.
You are the dipshit using a broad brush to generalize southerns.

Why are you bringing money into this? I said nothing of the sort, nor did I intend to imply it. What I was pointing out is that DC metropolitan area is much more linked with the northeast than the "south".
What makes them northern? You claim Virginia is a southern state...
Both DC and Maryland are south of the line. If you say Virginia is a southern state because of the line, then surely DC and Maryland are as well.
First off, I did not call Virginia a northern state.
Second, my response to your friends and wife:
Umm...okay? We have forum members here who reside in Virginia, who I'm sure would not take up violence because someone said Virginia is a northern state. SP33Demon for one, though I bet others in the NoVa area would concur with my assessment.
Honestly, I don't classify West Virginia as anything besides West Virginia. For Virginia, I consider NoVa more northern. I can't speak as much about points south, as I haven't spent much time down there.
I don't know what you're talking about poor and uneducated though, I don't recall claiming that people in the south are poor and uneducated. I attended a wedding just outside of Charlottesville and (based on my small time spent there) the people were normal.
Your interpretation of my arguments is off. I never made absolute statements like, "Virginia is part of the south" or "Maryland is part of the north."
That seems like a lot of Virginia locations that are defined by the OMB to be socially and economically integrated with parts of Maryland and DC, which you said is "Northern to the core."
Look, I'm not claiming that either Maryland or Virginia is a northern or southern state. Really, they're transition states between north and south. To reiterate, you'll find both have areas that can be considered northern, and others that can be considered southern.
Will you at least agree with that?
On a side note, I spent way too much time on this. Ugh.
