Anyone Who Bought the GTS-V From Newegg.com Having Stability Problems?

I got in on that Hot Deal but whenever i run 3dmark or a game it wil just suddenly close and send me to desktop. I tried a bunch of drivers, anyone else having this problem?

Nope. I've used about a dozen of GTS-V's in machines I've sold (including one I built today) and in 1 of my personal mcahines, and never had a problem with any of them, under Windows 98, Me, 2000, or XP.

just dont forget that it is only guaranteed to run at 175 by whatever the memory clock was (i forget), and if you are overclocking it, even just to 200, that could be your problem.... (also, make sure agp fast writes is disabled in your bios)

well i did stop the overclocking and its better but it still does it after about 5 min, i'll go try to see if that AGP fast writes is on

A friend of mine got a gts-v from newegg and had to return it a week later because of stability problems. He got a new one and since then everything has worked fine.

I thought I remember somebody posting to make sure your AGP apeture was set to 64mb in the BIOS? I'm running 3 of these cards all o/c to 200/333 with no problems (one of them is a 7.5ns version too!). I had one machine which would freeze after 1/2hr of 3D environments, but the problem seemed to go away by itself.

Aperture as a general rule should be set to one half of your ram size.🙂

Try upping voltage to the agp slot in the bios.🙂

agp fast writes is off
i have 256mb ram and tried the aperature at 64 and 128 and still crashes
i underclocked the card to 150mhz and still crashes
Well it doesnt actually crash, just suddenly exits the game i'm in. Sounds software related, im running latest 28.90 detonators on Win XP Pro.
