Anyone watching "The Ultimate Fighter" on SpikeTV?

It's a "Tough Enough" type reality show with 16 guys training and competing for an Ultimate Fighting contract. It's interesting to see these guys training and sparring and smacking each other around.

I watched the first episode and thought they were all a bunch of skinny wannabe's. Sure, they could probably kick my butt, but I would of expected many of them to be fairly well built individuals. i.e. 230 plus lbs.

There are two weight classes in that show, middle weight and light heavy. 230+ would be heavyweight already. These guys are all around 185-205.

It seems like a decent show. Of course a bunch of the guys (espeically that Chris Leben) are VERY annoying and very cocky. I'll be surprised if no big fights break out in the house. I mean how can a bunch of guys who love to fight, sit around in a house day after day, 1/2 of them are getting drunk....and then fight each other during training and not get pissed at each other in the house?

That was pretty messed up when Chris Leben got ripped as soon as they walked into the house and was drunk all night . Then the next morning he was the only one to complete the treadmill torture test. Wacky shite for sure.

Peace

That black dude who won the fight should be kissing the dark guy with the blonde curly hair's ass! If he hadn't been there to help him he never would have cut the weight. By the way, it CAN'T be healthy to cut 20 pounds of water weight in 24 hours.

Bad Ass show!

watched the 2nd epsiode last night after seeing the 1st epsidoe earlier in the week.

Guy loses 18lbs of water and then proceds to KTFO Leban in the ring. Leban wash a big pussy as evidenced by last nights match. I'm sure he could kick my ass though!

Anyone else wondering where the rest of Bobby's team members were when he was sweating it out in the Sauna? Only his coach and 1 team member were motivating him.

If Bobby doesnt start working harder in the competitions he may be in the ring every other week. He seems like a damn good fighter who can take some licks though.

I'm thinking the Psychotic Curly orange haired kid could win the LH spot. He's nuts enough to do sumin crazy.

Ya, Chuck Lidell (the coach of the blue team) didn't really like Bobby and the president of UFC thought he was a huge whiner and complainer. I think deep down most of the guys there didn't care if he got kicked off or not b/c people seemed to like Lodune a lot more. And his team probably figured, what the heck, if he can't motivate himself to lose the weight then screw him he deserves to leave.

You are right though, it appears some of those guys aren't going to have to fight for a little while b/c they win the competitions and nobody wants to fight them (Stephen, Alex, Chris L.). And Bobby seems so out of shape that he'll lose a lot of competitions. I wonder if they make a rule that if you fight once you don't have to fight again or if it is fair game every week.

Last nights episode was pretty good especially after watching the Lidell/Ortiz fight the night before that Spike aired.

Got me pumped up to see another fight the next night:

Show focused on Leban and his mouth way too much, I would like to get to know the other cast of characters a bit more and understand there individual fighting styles. Josh K has the most heart of anyone and is the class act of the show. He continues to shine in his personality.

Fight was slow and painful to watch as the errors that were made seemed way too basic. Diego has a big mouth and seems really dumb when he talks. I now see what Alex. K was ripping on him about. of course, Diego is the better MMA tactician.

So who lost the challenge? I'm assuming Diego lost and chose to fight Alex K. I can't see how Alex would choose to fight Diego. I only caught the last 10 minutes of hte show b/c I forgot about it and was watching 24 taped. Anyway, Alex's team spent the whole time trying to figure how to counter Diego's grappling techinques and what does Alex do??? He throws one haymaker allowing Diego to slip in and take him down. It was all over at the point as Diego tossed him around and eventually got the choke.

Not that there are really spoilers but:

Leban planned on throwing the competition because he wanted to fight Josh K. ( The dyed blonde curly haired kid). Well Willa (Hottie) announces only two people from each team will compete in the competition. And the first team to cross the finish-line first can pick any Middleweight from there team to fight any member of the opponents team.

So, of course, Liddel's team wins. They had a hard time deciding who fight as they knew it would wither be Diego or Josh K. Josh K wanted Leban and Diego wanted Alex K.

Lidell had to pick a Lt. Heavyweight to give up and replenish Couture's team. Forget the guy he picked but all the team members thought that was a bit messed up.

That is the stupidest show! Yes, they are wannabes. Yes, UFC fighters are second rate. That show is HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE I tell you!

I like the show a lot.. To answer a few questions:

It's a show about fighters, not body builders.

Diego didn't lose the challenge, they switched up the rules of the challenges and now the winnners get to choose their opponents.

Losing 20+ lbs for a fight is very common. They weigh in the day before for this exact reason. A lot of fighters step off the scale, drink a ton then head on over to the buffet and they're right back to their fight weight.

Diego is the best middleweight on the show.

Episode 4 - Worst ever!

Missed the first ten-minutes os maybe that when the good part was.........

Ok, so it was fun watching Bobby and Josh Keralackis ridicule and cut down Chris Leban.
Not a fan of Chris at all, no matter his skills, this guy is destined for a lifetime of anger management issues.
Sucks, Chris, but you need to learn to laugh some crap off rather than taking everything so seriously. What an out of control basket case!

Amazing how the UFC President and both coaches are knocking Bobby for being a whiner. Hey, the guy won his fight by a knock-out and hails from my area. Go Bobby!

Episode 5 will be kick ass!

I saw this.. HTF is this legal?

shouldnt the weigh in be conducted like 5 secs before the fight so you have legitamate classes instead of 20+ lb heavier goons that have to do this.. then pile the weight back on before the fight...
what the hell is that all about...
the other guy was solidly in the weightclass he should of been... the heavy guy shouldnt even be on his class...

yeah, when do they typically weigh-in in the UFC? Is it the day before???

Yes,
asides from amateur athletics professionals like Boxers weigh in typically 1-2 days before a fight. The UFC show is no differetn and is following all rules set forth by its organziation as well as those of the Nevada State Athletics Commission.

Episode 5 was awesome!
Alex K to Chris L "Go get your bus ticket" 😀

Episode 6

House seems so calm now that Leban is gone. Nice to see Team Lidell so happy in the first half of the show.

2nd half its fight night with Bobby being called out by Stefan.

Good fight, bad decision. I'm with Bobby on this one, Split decision and all. How the hell did he lose?

I guess since the show ended 5 minutes after black history month, the producers wanted to make a funny.... Afterall it is SpikeTV.

I disagree. I think it could have gone a third round (which Stephan would have won b/c Bobby was definitely getting tired) but if I was a judge I would have picked Stephan too. Stephan controlled the tempo and brought the fight to Bobby. Bobby just stood there and played defense. He either waited until Stephan moved in for a punch and tried to punch back, or waiting until Stephan tried a takedown and then tried to reverse it. If 2 Bobby's had fought they'd still be standing there waiting for someone to attack. Therefore ADVANTAGE Stephan!

It was a GREAT fight in my opinion though. Much better than the boring Josh K vs Leban. This fight had punching, kicking (by Stephan), wrestling, reversing. Great fight I think.

anyone still watching? too bad the ref didn't let sam get beat down some more.
also... anyone else things kenny florian looks like ben stiller?
