I wonder what all of the NAFTA haters are going to think in the mythical future where NAFTA no longer exists, and all of the midwest farmers are penniless, with their farms run fallow, and their wonderful grains and corn and eggs and beef are now being sourced by lovely Chinese megafactories?

LOL, GOP voters love to fluff up the the wonderful farmers, but really have no idea about their actual needs.

If he botches NAFTA the hurt is gonna get real. I wonder how popular he'll be in resource/ag exporting areas then.

Man you aren't kidding. I've been accosted by friends, relatives and just people I run into that have been watching Fox and/or radio shows like Rush all day...basically they feel the end is nigh and they have to fight back...against whoever...? That shit is not good for people. It's the mental equivalent of Oreos: engineered to keep people munching on it but in the long run it's really bad for you. (To be sure, all news is this to some degree....if I happen to turn on cable news after about 5 years "off the stuff" it's like a mountain dew to someone who hasn't had a real soda in years. All eagles and flags and red banners declaring "urgent, really serious breaking news" and *bam* you are hooked....)

It's more like crack cocaine. Oreos won't make you crazy.

What, you were expecting the smallest shred of self-awareness or humility out of that festering swamp calling itself a news network?

I wonder when these people will realize that the time he spends flying around the country is time he is not spending actually working on their problems, trying to keep them safe, and trying to ensure their relatives in the military aren't dying needlessly.

At about the same time the sun becomes a supernova, Satan gets his tongue stuck to a pole, and the local degenerates make convincing, coherent, and morally-sound arguments.

(Note: I am well aware the Sun is much too small to go nova. The above is a sarcastic "never.")

Newt was on Hannity and it was hilarious, first they claim the Russia investigation is a witch hunt, then turns on a dime and goes into his deep state conspiracy crap. And what's really crazy is I'm sure his viewers don't even notice.

The Deep State is probably responsible for giving Newt's x-wife cancer, and then forcing him to cheat on her while she was being treated, and then holding her hostage until he agreed to divorce her.

Anyone notice Fox dropped Fair And Balanced (except for Hannity he still says it) they now use Most Watched Most Trusted.
Most watched by conservatives
Most trusted by conservatives
Would be more accurate.

I stopped watching FOX when Glenn Beck and others started tossing around socialist and nazi conspiracy theories about the Obama administration o_O Totally wrecked it for me, since it was a 'news' channel (with some decently hot women), so my wife didn't object. #noMoreCheapThrills

the best part is how they are no longer the most watched (prime time slots) as of about 3 or 5 weeks ago. ...which is why they adopted the slogan. Fake News, indeed.

Have you noticed Trump ending a lot of dubious sentences with the word "okay"?
Or how Hannity tells people every fifteen minutes how the liberal media is too biased to tell this story, that they are the only people you can trust, etc.?

Trump and Fox hosts have a particular strategy in communication. I'm imagining this is something that is described and studied in the literature, but I don't know what to call it.

They are all serial argument suppressors. They give you provocative statements and a statement that begs you to either assent to the statement as fact or fight with them about it. Most people are confrontation averse, so they'll accept things they would absolutely reject without this pressure. And they do it frequently so you're conditioned to accept more and more bullshit as time goes along.

Watch an infomercial. Same thing. If you get someone to play along, you can get them believing in some pretty ridiculous stuff so long as you made sure there was no place in the conversation for their own viewpoints. Works best if you only sound a little bit questionable at first then work your way to downright fishy.

The contemporary GOP and their supporters are a modern Milgrim, or Stanford prison experiment, writ large. It's fascinating. But these guys do murder quite frequently so, it's worse than fascinating.

Trump is exactly like Carter...except instead of discussing issues like getting off Foreign Oil and looking towards a brighter and better future, you get talks about how personally slighted he is, by everything!
There is a super major difference between Trump and Carter, being the fact that Trump is in spite of his daddy-financed high end educational stints wound up basically wholly uneducated. Neitsche said everyone should have come to know at least one science in its essentials. Trump never did, never will. Carter took graduate work at Union College in reactor technology and nuclear physics. In comparison, Trump is a complete ignoramus.

Another huge difference was that Carter SOLD his business when he was elected.

Trump must have been watching Fox the other night;

This just out:
"The Obama Administration knew far in advance of November 8th about election meddling by Russia. Did nothing about it. WHY?"

I'm not sure what Donny is even trying to say here. Does he think Obama was secretly conspiring to help him win? Or is it a cry for help. "Why didn't you stop me? Thanks, Obama."

I thought the whole "Russia thing" was made up by the "Left" to excuse their historic loss to Boss Trump. So now he's saying there was a "Russia thing" after all?
