Here's what you need to know if you haven't seen it; It uses the standard Stephen King template he uses in most of his book
1. Slow beginning, very very minor stuff happens
2. Characters introduce each other with full name for some reason, bond in 2 seconds
3. Bad dialogue
4. Suddenly, creature/thing starts actually using its power, but does nothing impressive. Cue cheesy makeup and voice modulation to represent possession
5. Young girl ghost shows up to help/scare boy psychic
6. Monster kills a couple of people
7. Boy psychic starts rattling on about the will of God. Again. And Again. And Again. Starts telling people everything God wants them to do, even though we never actually see him speak to God.
8. Parents follow everything kid says, even though all they've seen are a couple of wild animal attacks and a crazy person/sheriff that has no indication that it's supernatural.
8. Skeptic doesn't want anything to do with it. Experiences paranormal event that he survives/dies from
10. Kid goes on and on about how God formed their group to fight Pennywise/Flagg/etc.
11. Cue argument about freewill, God being cruel, suffering to achieve his ends
12. Cynical character with shady past confronts evil being and reedems himself by sacrificing himself to save the other group members/world. Creature doesn't bother killing/possessing/threatening to tie up the character to watch "Barney and Friends" to stop the guy who's trying to kill/trap the monster
13. Beyond the grave "feel good moment" from one or more of the characters killed throughout the movie, most likely from the guy who redeemed himself in taking out the monster
14. Rushed, badly written ending.
So, you've never actually *read* a SK book, I see.
