Anyone watching MSNBC right now?

I was watching TV...

Anyway, what happened was a Muslim American commented his sympathy towards the victims of the terrorist attacks and how every Muslim in his Mosque share his feelings. Then another American hearing this, who obviously felt anger stir inside him, commented how this Muslim American wouldn't know anything about this attack beforehand. The angry American believed that every Muslim who attends a large Mosque must know something. Then it started to get heated.

Noticed I kept emphazing the word "American" because as I was watching I couldn't help to feel how silly and irrational for one American to accuse another based solely on his identity. The bottom line is this, DO NOT let the actions of a few coward radicals represent those of entire race or general group of people.

I just turned to it and they had some lady on down by the WTC doing a live shot... guess it ended.
 
Yeah, it just ended at 11pm EST. I used the term "Muslim American" but that may not be accurate or the proper term to use. What I meant is an American with Muslim beliefs.

Normally when people comment, they refer to country of origin. African-American, German-American, etc. Are we now tacking on religion as well? Baptist-American, Mormon-American? All of it seems more likely to cause divisiveness. Is that even a word? 😉
 
I would also like to point out that there "Moslem" terrorists violate many fundamental rules of Islam:

1) drinking
2) going to nudie bars (or similar behavior)
3) killing civilians, women and children
4) suicide

So anyone who says that Islam supports or even condones these things should seek to educate themselves.

Most of you are too young to remember, (Red being the exception, of course), but the same thing happened during the Iran hostage crisis in the late '70's. Idiots everywhere were attacking, both verbally and physically, anyone who looked like they might be of Iranian heritage.

At the time I was a District Manager for Winchell's and two of my Managers were Iranian. More then once, I had to step in and physically remove morons from my stores because they were too stupid to differentiate between the radical slimeballs and the folks who were working for me.

I fear that this time around it may be much worse.

Yeah I remember. But it wasn't only them, people who looked liike they could be of Persian Ancestry were attacked too. I had a friend from Peru who got beat up because some rednecks in a bar mistook him to be Iranian.

I turned it on after seeing the first post, just in time to see this complete idiot talking about turning the United States into a police state.

This jerk was honestly talking about how Bush should declare martial law, and immediately start search and seizures everywhere without warrants. I've rarely been so pissed off in my life.
 
I certainly remember the Iran crisis.

But things are somewhat different this time around. Clearly the enemy is (and has been) among us. How are we to weed them out? It's definitely something that has to be done, certainly one of the highest priorities.

Not that I would condone anything similar to what was done to the Japanese Americans in WWII, but would it be going too far to say that any Middle Easterner who is here and has not naturalized, is not in the process of doing so, or can not provide good reason (and there are a plenty of valid reasons no doubt) for being here, should be deported, or at the very least highly scrutinized as to whether they provide any security risk? Obviously this would be an overwhelming task for our Security dept., but sad to say, it's obviously far too easy for these terrorists to come here and establish themselves. The potential for sleeper cells is one of the more daunting things about this task before us.

Well, I consider myself American, I guess. I mean 96% of us 'Americans' are descendants of people who immigrated here from other Continents.

Possible, but highly unlikely according to the experts. Do you know any other "ethnicity" that has declared a holy war on us? Cause nobody else seems to know of any.

Do not misinterpret my point. I am not anti-immigrant, that would be rather hypocritical considering I'm only third generation away on one side of my family.

My point is that the enemy has been proven to have been living amongst us, may very well still be, and we have to somehow flush them out. I am open to any suggestions that would accomplish this essential task.
