You got it all twisted around. I wouldn't in the world said that just about American, but I would that every armies have potential to shoot civilians by accident, out of fears, or drama.

Some people can fly off the handle & do scarry things during war & peace time. It is just easier to kill if you have a gun in hand.
 
It is the double standard.
Gulf War 1 Americans didn't allow reporters enough access.
Now Americans allow too much access.

Actually access isn't the complaint. It's broadcasting war, basically death, live as entertainment.
