It was/is on the Discovery channel. It's been on since 8pm EDT, it's two hours and they're just replaying it. It's basically a documentary about what they think various humanoid species did and how they evolved. It's one of those documentaries where you actually watch them do stuff, not just where the narrator talks about it.

The spider thing and the guy breaking his finger were a bit too sick though. Eww...

Didnt watch it.

Since Alec Baldwin hosted it, I figured it was somehow going to blame Bush for killing off the cavemen.

yeah too much speculation. They really had very little proof presented in the show. Still I thought the make up and acting was good.

Yup, watched it at 8:00, and now they are playing it again at 10:00

WHY?

Some parts were interesting, most was speculation.

But then what else COULD it be?

Yeah, it's speculation, but like he said, all of the artifacts we've found from those time periods could fit into the back of a truck. No matter what, it's all going to be speculation, especially on the details (like how they died, etc).

Um, of course. It was THEORIES presented in a STORY. I've taken my fair share of facts studying, and this by far was the most interesting. If you want FACTS, you should get some textbooks.

Rossboy, do you have directv or conventional cable? If you have either tv connection, you should have Discovery channel.

Wasn't he supposed to leave the country?

Anyway...I'm gonna wait till the rips of these come out, and get them there...

I love these series...got Walking with Dinosaurs and Walking with Mammals...

LOL, despite Alec Baldwin I still find it pretty interesting. Of course the whole show was speculation, since the only evidence scientist have are a few bones and some artifacts. The one real interesting question that came out of it was why there was only on species, the homo sapiens, left. All the other creatures of the word, like birds for instance, have thousands of species that evolved differently. Our ancestors spread out all over the world but only one type of hominid survived.

I thought it was good. It's not like they could walk the audience - and keep us interested - if they started dissecting everything with carbon dating and other "fun" things like that to help show us why they were saying certain things. I'd guess most of what the show stated are facts mostly agreed upon by scientists in this area.

Of course no facts will ever be good enough for somebody who doesn't believe in evolution anyway since it conflicts with their faith. And faith being the antithesis of reason there will never be a middle ground.

The Show was great IMO, but i cant help but to think maybe our next change is going to be some kind of integration with machines. Who knows maybe in 1 mil years from now half-man half machine will be reality???

I liked it. The speed of progress amazes me. 2 million years doesn't seem like a very long time to go from banging rocks together to putting a man on the moon.

I think those other hominids died out because we hunted them down and killed them in an effort to be the only hominids. Either that or we just took all the food till they starved. Some people think interbreeding happened but if the animal kingdom is any indicator, it shows that inter-species breeding cannot produce fertile offspring.

One thing that they presented which blows my mind is that every person on earth descended from around 3,000 invidual Homo Sapiens that left Africa.
