Whats even funnier is that they arrived in a helicopter, then they were like..."its too big of an area to search for a white farm house with black shutters", so they drive around looking for it. 🙄
I'm not sure why they just didn't cue up the satellite maps of the area on a couple dozen different computers and have a single box of a grid for each person to look through.

I am cutting them some slack though. I loved the first few seasons of 24 and even in the good seasons there was a lot of stupid BS like the daughter being kidnapped, being found and returned to HQ in a single cop car which then gets run off the road and the girl is kidnapped again. Don't get me started about how stupid the daughter is in season 2 getting in a crazy guy's bomb shelter and being fooled into thinking the nuclear bomb went off...

I enjoyed the first few episodes, but now it's getting to the point where I will watch it a few days later and only if there is nothing else going on.

Okay, I think it's done. I was afraid this was going to happen: it's turned into a shorter version of 24.

Come on? You breached a house of serial killers with a team of 4? You had no perimeter around the farm house or the other guy's place? She and the other assholes just slipped out the back door and no one was watching anything... What about those dozen laser pointers when they had when the girl ran off? And they are "everywhere".

This is THE thing that pissed me off about 24 -- how they always had some retarded way to let all the bad guys get away to stretch the series out to 24 episodes.

Sucks because I love Kevin Bacon and the female FBI lead is hot.

I hate increasing my post count, but I had to come out of lurking just to say this: 'The Following' is an insult to intelligence everywhere and anywhere. Tune in next week to see Carroll infiltrate and subvert every vein, artery, and capillary of this great nation - via proxy, no less.

At this point, I just want a family member of one of dozens of the serial killers' victims to just find a way to pull a Brad Pitt in Seven on the leader's ass. It's so easy to infiltrate every organization afterall.

When they're about to shiv him it will be revealed that they are the only person in the prison, hell, in the entire state, who is not in the cult. The first couple episodes had some promise but it's beyond full retard at this point.

The first one was the only one I thought was good, the rest have been a quick descent into mind numbing stupidity and frustration.

Really... After watching that turd, I was completely ready to see the end of the episode finish by revealing the head FBI lady is in on it too.

Just remembered that this is from Fox earlier. So, it is just 24 with a name and cast change.

And this is not well written. The "good guys" are not that interesting and Kevin Bacon's being wasted. The bad guys all come off as fuc*ing pieces of shit with no depth and all I can do is cheer when they die.

I figured out the show's formula: introduce new follower(s), have follower(s) kill a few people, FBI chase, follower(s) kills a few cops, Kevin Bacon or one of lead FBI agents kill one follower.

Fake SWAT: Roderick sent us ....

for
fucks
sake.

where is CTU when you need them?

Why bother with CTU? Probably half the organization is a mole and will conveniently kill all the incompetent "good guys" to let the bad guy get away every other episode... Just so we can stretch a 2 hour episode into a full 24.

The show is getting a little silly now. How did these people get into Law Enforcement?

It did indeed get a bit silly at the end there, but I guess the point is it could be anyone, anywhere. I'm treating the show as a silly horror/thriller movie at this point. Not a bad thing and approaching it that way my expectations don't get out of hand.

I loved the beginning of the episode when Bacon was screwing around with the guys and trying to mess with their heads. That was awesome. 😀

its slipped quite a bit from the first 2 or 3 episodes. part of the ominous foreboding feel is gone now that malfoy's character isnt 5 moves ahead of everyone and dropping hints to bacon.

it transitioned to more police procedural with in episode character development arcs. while you get insight into how messed up the followers are, it's made them look way more fallible. unfortunately the law enforcement characters have had to hold the stupid stick to avoid totally rolling the now weak looking followers.

while i dont mind the insight into the followers, i'd be perfectly happy if they killed off the boy girl boy trio. the Lost writers could have handled the rehabilitation of bacon's character and done the follower backstories far less ham handed than the current staff of writers.

next week's ep looks like a return to the "elegant in its simplicity" malfoy plan.

You missed it. She brought a book(Poe?) to Joe's cell in an earlier ep and they shared a glance/moment.

Whatever... this show is joining 'The Americans' on my DVR as a "I'll get to it whenever" show.

I think they are trying to fake out the audience with her more than anything or at least paint her as a sort of unknown. Joe did thank her for the book later on in front of Kevin Bacon so she didn't try to hide that. I think in the end she will not be corrupted, or perhaps even double cross Joe's cult. She obviously struggled with her parents wanting to have her raped to be in their cult and I think she was shocked that her parents feel almost nothing about her. Her holding that medallion of her parents cult from her childhood perhaps serves as reminder with how damaging cults can be but there is sort of an envy of these people at least feeling like they belong to a community, even if it is rotten in the core.

It was completely a lazy move out of 24 when the local cop and the two SWAT guys are part of the cult. Plus, I'm sure there are a few helicopters/drones in the sky with IR cameras that can see every person quite easily. A double cross with the local cop, while extremely unlikely, is at least possible to work out. Fake SWAT guys coming into the area are going to be spotted by a heli before they get close to the front line and anyone running away from the house is going to be even more easily seen.

Didn't you know? They weren't fake SWAT guys, they just killed the two real SWAT guys and put on their uniform... After bypassing a FBI cordon that should have been in place for hours and reinforced multiple times with a well established perimeter. A cordon dense enough for people who've killed a dozen or more people.

These "followers" kill more than a dozen, and the cops treat them like they're doing a misdemeanor pot bust on grandma.

Yeah this show just got stupid.

Wife: *sigh* I bet that chick cop is gonna be a follower
Wife: Oh god dammit. Yup, she just shot the FBI dude.
"Roderick sent us"
Wife: *rolls eyes*

Kevin Bacon calls and says everyone is running out the back. A girl with a 10 year old kid makes it out. Two dudes, one of whom is stabbed almost to death and can barely walk make it out. Meanwhile, the SWAT team stands at the front door with their thumbs up their asses, even after hearing gunshots from 'round back.
