Watched most of it online.

Nothing special.

Romney wins by not losing.
Newt looks and sounds great, he has a great message but is a bad messenger.
Bachmann is a fool
Paul is a fool.
Everyone else is wasting their time and money.
 
Perry most likely.

But I need more info.

I love Newt, but he can't win.
Romney makes a decent stand by candidate.

BTW I wish they had name tags I can't remember who was Pawlenty and who was Santorum.

Heard very few things that I liked. Was a lousy debate overall.

Romney's going to get it, Perry will go the way of Fred Thompson. He's not ready for prime time.

And Newt is so far out to lunch it's sad. He says so much contradictory stuff for political reasons and has so many terrible, befuddling ideas he gives any politician a run for his money.

What is it about Perry that you like? His Christianity? Does it bother you that Romney is a Mormon?

His record as Texas governor, as I know it so far.

Balanced budgets, no taxes increases etc.
Job creation.

His belief in the 10th amendment and state's rights.

I'm a fiscal conservative mainly. Less government spending, less government intrusion and just a little bit of social conservatism. Abortion bad, don't want to outlaw it though, families are good, but want to make sure gays are treated equally and fairly by their governments (civil unions)

Honestly, people like Bachmann scare me as much as anyone on the left.

What do you think of Romney? Does it bother you that he had a health plan in Mass?
 
Romney and the mormon thing... don't care one bit.

They may be a little bit crazy with their church views, but Mormons as people do amazing things, have strong families, run strong businesses, have strong moral believes etc etc.

Romney is the 21th century JFK fighting the anti-Catholic bias.


He isn't running to be preacher in chief. Unless someone shows me that he let his faith and beliefs rule his state then I am not worried about it.

I wish he would walk away from it.

That is one of the main reasons I like Perry over him.

We do have serious problems without healthcare system and we need solutions that work and lord knows that anything coming from Washington may work, but it works like shit, costs twice as much and takes twice as long.

For what our government spends on healthcare (at all levels) France could provide healthcare to like 80% of its population (GDP spending)

I may go out and work for one of the campaigns this fall. I am lucky enough to live in South Carolina which is the third place to vote and the first red state so it is an important state in the process.

And I live near Charlotte NC which means I can work up there next year if NC is in play.

But we shall see what happens and how much time I have 🙂
 
I will say this.

The National Review which is a very strong conservative magazine seems to really like Perry and that effects a lot of my decision.

I am looking for a REAL conservative not a GWB 'compassionate conservative' or what not. But someone who really believes in conservative ideas and will put them into place.

Newt would be awesome if he wasn't such a mess.

Wouldn't the left rather be talking about how great of a President Obama is instead of talking about how bad the other side is?

The number 1 reason given on this forum for Obama to win in 2012 is that he is NOT Romney/Bachman/Perry etc.

I'd much rather have someone I can support rather than play the 'other side is worse' game, again.

Most of them did well and thought it was a good debate. Shit got heated at times and it was good to see some real human beings coming through at times. This is something the Democrats just don't have. Always playing politics.

Huntsman did the worst, just go home boy. Looks like Romney is Faux New's man. One softball after another. Funny watching Tim being the one having to scold Bachmann like the illogical woman she is. Pity parade for Michelle will be in full effect against Palenty come tomorrow.

Ron Paul really drew a line in the sand. The country desperately need his reason in the whitehouse right now. Let the Jew and Arab have their wars. Fuck em all.

Gingrich is clearly the smartest of them all. Shame his is a slimeball like Clinton. His heyday is over, but when it comes to government the duo of Gingrich/Clinton is good as this country will ever see. Pathetic is it not?

Paul is a nut job. The Jews and the Arab go to war and we can't afford to fill our tanks with gas and out economy crashes. This isn't the 19th century where we can ignore what happens outside or borders. The idiot came out and said that he didn't care if Iran had a nuke...
