For all you people that are like 'OMG TEH GROSS!!!!", guess what- you've probably had them before too, but just swallowed them without noticing.

Yes. Yes, both. No.

It actually has nothing to do with food. It is bacteria though; working on your mucous. If you pay attention, you'll find that you get them the most often when you have post-nasal drip going on.

I'm glad I had my tonsils removed. . . .
I'd much rather have my tonsills and deal with a few tonsill stones then not have my tonsills.

Do they come in handy for you?
Well, seeing as I never get sick, I guess they are doing their job.

my bro had his taken out when he was liek 5, and he never gits sick, EVER, I have mine and i get strep every year, they work against me

Before I had mine removed I got strep throat like clockwork. At least once a year in October-ish, then sometimes again in Jan/Feb. Had it so bad once it turned into Scarlet Fever. That was loads of fun.

Ever since I had them removed, I have never had a sickness involving my throat/nasal type of stuff. Pain in the butt recovering from the tonsilectomy however guess in the long run it was worth it.
