Thanks OP, I forgot how much this game rocks!

As for the CRC errors, I also got those using a (fairly old) trial version of Winzip. Then I went here and downloaded UltimateZip (freeware) and it opened the archive flawlessly. Winzip went straight to the trash very shortly after installation of UltimateZip, btw. Pretty full featured, and completely free.

I am really enjoying playing through this. I practically know the first episode by heart (I played through it at least once when the demo came out, then again when the retail game was released), but I find I have little memory of the rest of it.

It's a little too easy with mouselook at the default difficulty, but still a lot of fun. I remember really struggling with sections of it using just a keyboard years ago, and finding them very easy now.

I find it genuine scary in places.

It's great to have a game load SO quickly, and have the levels load almost instantly. This makes it painless to play for a quick 15 minutes here and there, as opposed to spending minutes loading Far Cry and its levels.

It actually looks pretty good in OpenGL, and I am surprised by some of the neat little touches (i.e., decals indicating where you have shot a wall, the general destructability of things in the environment) given the game's technological limitations.

Okay, last night I finished the third chapter and moved on to the bonus pack (this is what makes it the "Atomic Edition"), which I had never played before. Boy, does it seem to suck compared to the original game! I hope it gets less annoying after the first level.
