Anyone wanna quit their job with me?

Sometimes I just really hate my job. It's a great job, pays well, amazing benefits. But it's completely not fullfilling.

On the drive to work I wonder "Is this how I want people to remember me 40 years from now"???

Lets come up with a business, we can all quit our jobs and do. Something that betters humanity, pays our rent and keeps us happy.

Best Idea wins a :cookie:

TGIF......and TGIS, cause I'm playing Golf in the morning.

You must be young. Or an optimist. I don't like optimists.

betters humanity.... pays rent... keeps us happy... how about we start a torrent tracker called The Pirate Bay.. oh wait.

but seriously, I;m in a very similar situation.. great job, pays well, great bennies... but want to do more with my life and make an impact.. the best thing I can do right now is volunteer some time to one of the many dozens of charitable organizations my company supports - the United Way, meals on wheels, habitat for humanity, the Relay for Life, the Texas Open(hey, i have to have some fun, right?)..

I'm pretty close to even establishing a small scholarship fund - i'm hoping to start by granting a person 1k (so that's only ~$40 per paycheck) to a graduating senior who's going on to college from my old high school (inner city).

Volunteering really does make a difference to people's lives. my FIL has devoted his career to raising money for children's hospitals - so now, when I sell on Ebay, I usually donate the proceeds (minus shipping) to his hospital.

Ok I've had this idea for quite a while and think it has potential... If anyone takes this idea and make anything of it, be sure to pay me back in kind. Ok here it goes:

Misfortune cookies - They're like fortune cookies but instead having good things to say, it has a more dark, twisted, morbid or pessimistic view of life. 😀

Not super young, 31......and I'm not very optimistic.....(you should see my Zombie Arsenal)

But I would like to do something to better the world.

Let's take time magazines advice and open up chains of Survival Stores, then pay newspapers to run stories about impending doom every week or so.

In the late 90's, at the height of the Motivational Poster craze, a couple friends and I sat around in our dorm late one night and came up with like 30 really good De-motivational slogans. We didn't follow it up but a couple years later Despair.com started up and our dreams were over. 🙁

I say start a toilet paper factory. People always need to go for a crap. It's a market that can never be oversaturated.

What kind? The soft triple ply or the ones that sting?

We can have them come in 7 types. It's simple really, depending on which type of poop you just did you use the correct one. We could also go a step further and sell custom toilet paper holders that fit only our toilet paper, so we lock people into having to buy ours. Since we have 7 types, the roll would be specially designed with a self sanitizing touch menu where you choose your type.

The more advanced model could interface with a special toilet we would sell, that auto detects what is the best toilet paper to use, at the push of a button.

If you wonder where I'm going with the 7 types...

Seriously, we could monopolize the whole toilet paper market. Nobody has ever tried this before.
