I got in on the 22" Acer WS deal @ Micro Center ($329 was too hard to resist), and I was considering wall mounting it. I see it conforms to the VESA 100 standard, so it looks like there are a whole bunch of wall mount kits out there that will work. Also, Acer's base on this monitor is pretty basic, and looks a tad undersized for the screen.

I was hoping some of you guys with dual 2407WFP's would have done something similar and could suggest some good choices...

:)

**UPDATE** 9/30/06***

Well, I finally got the Acer 22" mounted to my wall today. It was easy to install and the tilt feature works well. Here are some pics...

First I had to fgure out how to remove the upper part of the base. I finally figured out there was a cover that needed to be snapped off to expose the screws holding it on...

Cover removed

I then removed the base piece...

Stock base removed

The LCD had four mounting holes conforming ot the VESA 100 standard...

Mounting Holes

I mounted the backplate using those four holes and the screws provided...

Backplate Installed

After I mounted the main part of the bracket to the wall, I just slipped the LCD onto it, and adjusted the tile to my liking. Once I found the angle I liked the most, I tightened down the adjustment knob, and put in the security screw.

Here's how it looks all mounted...overall, I'm very happy.

Finished project

:thumbsup::)

I've only got a 20in WS panel myself, but due to the orientation of my desk and apartment, its not wall mounted. Since I do a lot of text work on it as well, wall mounting would make reading fine text difficult with the desk between us.

A LCD TV or plasma of some sort, I'd prefer to wall mount regardless though.

I wanted to do that to but the text would be way to hard to see. Maybe someday when I have a 30 inch or something.

I wall mounted my Dell 2405, and am quite happy with my choice. It did actually free up quite a bit of space on my desk. It's also easier on the eyes as the screen is further away (damn thing is almost too big).

However the VESA wall mount kit I bought from the local Sony store was a freakin rip off. I think I paid over $120/cdn for it, but at the time I was having trouble finding them elsewhere.

I mounted my 2405fpw on my wall. The mount is one with an extendable arm so I could pullit out and turn it to use as the guest room TV. I paid about $50 from BB. I can find the link when I get home if you wish (or even send you a pic)

Yeah, I thought about text size, but I won't be that far away from it the way I am setup now...maybe 15-18" or so? Also, this is another reason I snagged the Acer. Because it's a 22" LCD, and still runs 1680 x 1050, the pixel size is a bit larger than on a normal 20" WS, .282 IIRC...but still smaller than the pixel size on most 19" LCD's. This should help with viewing text at more of a distance...

Thanks for the info...I saw a couple at the 'egg I liked. I'm debating between flush mount, or flush mount with adjustability. Here are a couple I saw...

Peerless ST630P BLACK SmartMount Tilt Wall Mount For 10"-24" LCD Flat Panel Screens - $25.99 (Steel)

Peerless SF635P SmartMount Flat Wall Mount For 10"-42" Screens - $32.99 (Steel)

Here's a fancy one...;)

Peerless ST635P-S SmartMount Universal Tilt Wall Mount - $46.99 (Aluminum)

I remember seeing a project one guy did where he dissassembled part of his laptop, mounted the LCD on the wall, and put a nice picture frame around it. Mostly, I think, he just used it with a rotating wallpaper or screensaver because it looked cool.

i like the one i linked above. it is a cantilever mount and gives you a lot of flexibility. i've put it in several doctors offices and they love it.

Looks nice, but as of right now, I don't think I want a swing out arm type...just a flush mount as close to the wall as possible...

it mounts flush, you just have to push it all the way in, then you can tighten down on the screws in the arms and it won't move. it also gives you the option of swinging out later for the same pricing as the flush mounts you've been looking at.

it's also extremely well made.

mounted my 37"

paid too much for the mount (got it at the same time as tv - impulse buy). in retrospect i would go for something with a tilt. having it offset from the wall makes things nice if you are plugging things in. any mount should really do the trick as long as it and your panel is vesa (and you put it in a stud :)).

ill post a pic when i get home if i remember. i also would have put mine lower, but at the time i didnt think i would be using it on the comp so much and i wanted to elevate it for good viewing (tv movies) from bed. ill prolly ditch the 19" if i ever rearrange.

SFW?

As long as you don't whip it out and start fapping to a nicely mounted LCD and a spiffy looking desk/lamp combo.

haha, i was just worried there was a 'sexy' image on the desktop of the wall mounted lcd...
that is a sexy setup though!!

Thanks for the pics...

It's a bit more expensive, but I'll give it some more consideration...
