Is anyone using this Text linked with their private domain? Ive been messing around with it a little bit and was wondering about how the email works.

Is google hosting the email? And if they are, all you would need is a domain name then to use it and wouldnt need any hosting/email hosting right?

sorry if its wrong forum

I use it. Google does all the email hosting. You just point your MX records to googles servers and they do the rest. You do not need any other web/email hosting.

yeah its been great so far, just gotta figure out a better header image. What size should it be?

And for the smartphone, i just use the built in email function and have it check once an hour. Works fine, although not as cool as an exchange server.

I registered a domain for a small business today and signed up to use google apps for the hosting.

It is definitely not as easy to use, or as organized, as other google products.

It should take about 48 hours for the domain and google to hook up. So, I plan to report back in a couple of days about how the email and web pages are doing.

I've got three clients' domains on it, with about 45 users. So far, it has been great with gmail taking all the work on spam out of my hands.

So if all I want is an @mywebsite.com email address, I can just buy it for 10 bucks from godaddy, without a hosting plan, and let google do all the email hosting for me for free?
