Rain does not work on AMD chips. I read somewhere that it can cause the cpu to heat more than if Rain was not installed. Look for software named VCool, that is made for AMD cpu's. I don't remember were I got it from or I would give you a link to it.

I'm not sure if it's specifically for Intel chips, but Windows XP and 2k both have built-in code that do basically what Rain does.
