Check out a review done by it on Anandtech...you'll find your answer in the review of the iPod.

The program Anand mentions isn't released beta or alpha yet (he says) so I don't think it works too well.

Dunno anyone who bought a Mac just for the iPod. iTunes is awesome though. Best MP3 software in existence, and it's free and autosyncs with the iPod. And the iBook is the best all around notebook in its class. Furthermore it includes a standard 6-pin firewire adapter like all current Macs, not the stupid non-powered 4-pin firewire adapters seen on many PC laptops.

I wouldn't touch those old bubble iMacs with a 10 foot pole however. Crap.

My dad is using an iPod with his PC using XPlay. He hasn't had a lot of luck and it seems to corrupt itself after installing enough music. He has to take it to a computer store with Macs to reset it in order to get it working.
Just a note, we're getting a new iMac as a kitchen computer, so that will solve his iPod problems.

There have been speculation that Apple will announce a upgraded iPod with the new 10GB HD and Windows compatibility at the Mac World Tokyo show.

Bump for more answers^

I really want an iPOD, but have a PC. I have heard some bad things about XPlay. Is there any alternative software out there that is good that can make the iPOD compatible with a PC?

Anyone have a good experinece getting it to work?

Thanks.

There was something about xplay on slashdot recently. It seems to be getting a lot better. Remember, the anandtech review was done over 3 months ago.
