I have an DI30 and a 2.60ide and I am not having much luck getting them to work. Is anyone out there running either of these drives. If you are what software and drivers are you using with them.

Thanks,
Jason

Use Veritas Backup Exec 8.5 and 9.0, both work flawlessly with them.

Onstreams are horrible, they suck and they will die. The company is out of business so I wouldn't trust your data to them. I'd toss the drives.

I really never had a single problem with the DI30. The adr2.60ide is new to me, so I don't know yet.

I'm not going to toss out $300 in drives and tapes, I'd perfer to make them work.

Do you have any personal experience with either of these drives?

DI30's like to die three months after their warranty is up. We have a customer that has gone through three of them, and they don't even backup every night. They may be replacing that system in the future, and we told them that as part of the new one, they would have to replace that drive. They didn't want to invest in a new drive and tapes just yet. They are using the onstream software to back up with.

I hadn't heard that they had gone out of business though.

They are indeed currently out of business and its not the first time that its happened.

Regardless. What issues is your customer having with the drive?

The drive just stops working. The last one wouldn't eject the tape when it failed and I had to jimmy it out.

They are using win98se, and the drive had no errors until it failed.
