Anyone using a pelican or mad catz system selector?

I could use one so I wouldn't have to keep plugging and unplugging systems all the time, but I'm worried about the signal. The last time I used a signal switcher was in the 80s and it really degraded the picture quality. Are these still like that, or are they any good?
 
i use a mad catz one, it doesnt seem to degrade the signal really, but then again i'm playing through an 80 dollar philips vcr going into a 180 dollar generic 25" tv using RF so hey its not gonna look super-duper hifi no matter what i do 😛

very convenient though 🙂
 
I've got a switch connected to my TV. It's not the Pelican or Mad Catz, but it is in the same price range ($19.99 retail). I have S-Video from all my DVD, PS2, and DreamCast all hooked up to it and it works great. I haven't noticed any picture quality loss so it must not be too bad.

There is a black one they sell at Best Buy and Babbages that my old man uses for some of his stuff. He got an open box deal on it after Xmas and it works great as well. We didn't notice any loss on it, either.

I'd recommend getting one...I'm glad I have mine.

The one I have is a grey one that I haven't seen before in stores. I got it for Xmas, so I'm not sure where it was bought. The one my dad has comes from best buy and is packaged in on a yellow piece of cardboard with plastic formed over it. Sort of looks like Sony makes it because it looks similar to memory cards and stuff with that yellow background (I think it's yellow). Anyway, the actual unit is a black square with markings for XBOX, DC, PS2, etc... I've seen this same model come packaged by itself, or with some cables and replacement names for the buttons. Both were right around $19.99. It's probably about the size an average 4 port router.
