Anyone using a Logitech MX300 Optical mouse?

I'd recommend upgrading to either the MX500 or the MX510 for gaming, since the MX300 doesn't have the extra thumb buttons that come in super handy in most games, plus the shape is a bit nicer fit in the hand (assuming you're right handed). The MX700 is a great mouse as well, since it has all the features of the MX500 but is cordless as well, but some people find it a bit laggier than the corded mice in gaming. I've never personally noticed any lag except when the batteries were low, though.

I've never liked the MS mice. To me they feel cheap compared to the logitech mice, especially the left and right click buttons (way too mushy feeling). Also the scroll wheels on the Logitech mice turn in increments instead of turning smoothly like the MS mice, so they are better for selecting weapons in FPS games.

I have an MX300 and love it. Same sensor as the MX500 and MX700 and more comfortable IMO. Not having the thumb buttons is a bit of a drawback but I can deal with it. The shape is the same as the Logitech iFeel mouse and the "basic" Logitech opticals.

same sensor.. cept for 510 of course. 310 is old sensor too. all good though. just different button/feature set. i tried the 310 once, but its shape bothered me a bit, think the 300 probably better. i use a 700 though, i like the cordless bit and the extra buttons are useful to me. i like being able to use the buttons above and below the mouse wheel for end/home etc.. i use the app switch button as f5... the corded ones do have slightly less lag though.

I've got an mx700, and my cousin has an mx300, the mx700 is heavier, so I felt awkward using the mx300, felt jerky

Go to a local CompUSA or Best Buy and try the mouse out yourself. Feel and comfort is all preference and only you can decide for yourself.

I m suing the MX300 mouse, I disabled the extra button given under the scroll wheeel, as I like the simplicity of having 3 buttons only, the MX500 & MX700 have a weired shape according to my choice, MX300 is more accurate the my old Logitech Optical Mouse, & it has the same shape so it was handy for me to switch, rest assured, they are Plug it & Forget it

Get the 310, love mine. It's got the same MX sensor as all the others, at least the stats match, I just checked my box. Much better than my previous Intellimouse in EVERY way IMO.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback.

Yeah nycx, I was actually in Wal-Mart today getting some digital images printed and saw the MX300 and started palming it and examining it. It does seem very nice and sharp, though my hands are just a fraction too large for it, but not to the point where I don't want to get it. The 2 games that I play the most on PC do not utilize the extra mouse buttons that much so the lack of them isn't very devistating. As for cords, they never really seemed to bother me that much, unless they're extremely stiff or ugly. But maybe I'll purchase an MX700 soon as well.

One thing for sure is this MS mouse wheel does move entirely too easily, and I find myself unwantingly switching from Shock Rifle to Translocator too damn much because the wheel tends to creep in one direction or the other if you don't settle it JUST right (which is hard to do in fast game-play).
