Anyone using a Hall Effect keyboard?

After finally diving into keyboards, a rabbit hole I avoided intentionally for years, and trying a bunch of different mechanical switches, I ended up with a Hall effect keyboard. I gotta say it is pretty gamechanging. The ability to have the WASD keys on such a short actuation to go along with SOCD is definitely a nice feature. Then being able to change to a more chill typing profile is just sublime.

Admittedly there are not nearly as many switch options, but, if you find a magnetic switch you vibe with, it's a pretty killer upgrade if you avidly game.

I like shine through keycaps, with a cherry profile, and the biggest issue I found is way too many of these boards come with south-facing LED's, which sucks for shine though cherry profile keycaps.

i just ordered another one, this time it's a rk royal kludge c98 he

i just spilled coffee on my old main mechanical keyboard which had the loud blue chery switches, i was using also using an attack shark 68 key he effect but it's too small for every day use, i don't like the mini keyboards, i also want the num pad and volume control

I have been completely happy with my keyboard that uses Cherry Mx-Brown switches. I settled on the browns after going through all the major switch types (well, hall effect was not available then, and the only benefit I can see of a hall effect would be being able to software control the actuation and reset points, assuming the keyboard maker would let you have such low level access).

For normal typing, my absolute favorite switches have and remain buckling spring switches as were used on IBM Model M keyboards. There are a few modern keyboards that use these. But they are not as great for gaming as the actuation and reset points require a bit of traversal (as the spring needs the space to expand back to its normal shape).

The Mx Browns have been the best compromise I have found for feeling solid for normal typing and being able to hover over the actuation and reset points with minimal fatigue (and letting you still "feel" those points).

K6 Keychron HE with the wood sides here! I'm really happy with it.

I need some sort of weird amalgamation of ISO and ANSI keycaps though!
Its a US layout but I want to (and I have for most of them) swap out the keys for UK ones. I also want shine through.

That's a beautiful looking board. I remember seeing it on my searches.

Do you mess with the HE effects for any games?
