Anyone using a Alpha 8045 on the Gigabyte GA-7VRXP (KT333)?

Like the title says. Just got this board and ordered a 8045 to use with it. Just eyeballing the board, it seems to have enough room for the 8045, but I'm not positive. Just curious if anyone is using this combo. Thanks in advance. 🙂

When the 7GRXP appeared on the market I scrutinized the photos and it appeared that there were surface-mounted devices rather close to one of the holes. Alpha did get it listed on their 8045 fit list, as you may already have seen. They say:

NOTE 2 : When installing the standoff washer, it could possibly touch the surface mount resistors close to the motherboard hole. A possible solution would be cutting a part of washer using a set of nippers or cutting pliers to provide clearance. Due to these issues, we consider the use of the PAL8045 on this board a "Use at your own risk application." Please see Photo for reference. (photo:GA-7VTXH)

Hey guys, I didn't see this thread was back up. I got the 7VXRP and the Alpha fits like a glove. No components get in the way and the install was a breeze. 🙂

Thanks for the info...

I've been looking forward to upgrading my MSI Pro-2A and Duron 600 (@840) for quite a while. It came down to the Gigabyte and the Epox DDR333 board, and I think I'm going to go with the Gigabyte. I'll combine that with an Athlon 1800, the 8045 and some 256MB Crucial DDR2100 that I picked up last fall when they were only $29.00 a piece.

I can't wait for the speed increase. My games have seemed dog slow, lately.
